The Federation’s chamber network covers the whole Palestinian Territories where there are 14 chambers; 4 in Gaza and 10 in the WestBank located in the main cities; with a membership base of 32,000 business of all different economic activities. Jerusalem Arab Chamber of Commerce and Industry

The Jerusalem chamber represent the economy of Jerusalem district which is mainly dependent on the tourism industry, the city contains; 69% of the total number of hotels,

89% of tour bus companies and 51% of tour operators and travel agents. In addition, the souvenir and gifts shops are mostly concentrated in Jerusalem.

Although the tourism industry is the most potentially significant growth industry in the Palestinian territories, drawing on the pilgrim traffic on both Islamic and Christian religious shrines. In addition there are several small and medium industries such as the shoes and leather, handcraft and tobacco and cigarette manufacturing in addition to Jerusalem Electricity Company that supply most of West Bank cities and villages with electricity.

Gaza is characterized by high density of population. More than one million people are living in approximately 350 square km, forming an important local market for its agriculture and industrial products; citrus, vegetables, cut flowers, rain-fed guava, fish, garments, processed and coated metal. All of these products are exportable and capable to compete in foreign markets provided, the restrictions imposed on the movement of Palestinian people and merchandise is removed. Industrial zone is being established in Gaza strip as a result of the peace process.

Footwear and leather products dominate the economy of Hebron area, particularly industry. 459 of footwear and leather manufacturing units are in Hebron area, accounting for 78% of total units of this branch industry in the Palestinian territories. The contribution of this industry to employment is significant. It employs more than 8000 workers and the total production is estimated at 60,000 pairs a day. Local markets hold a lion hare of this product with an important share in Israeli market.
The other important sector is quarrying and building stone industry, 57% of stone quarrying and one third of total stone cutting operations are in Hebron district. A significant portion of the total product is exported to Jordan and Israel. Hebron Area is also famous for its agriculture products specially grapes

Nablus Chamber of Commerce and Industry

Nablus area is famous for manufacturing of vegetable oils, production of olive oil and soap making in particular. 79% of this industry is concentrated in the area. It has its share in Arab market particularly Jordanian market. Another important industry in the area of Nablus is the stone quarrying and processing, 54 stone quarrying or 37% of the total number of stone quarrying units are in Nablus as well as one third of total stone cutting operations. This is in addition to concentration of a number of important financial, educational institution and other Palestinian Governmental departments. Ramallah Chamber of Commerce and Industry

This area is characterized by concentration of the pharmaceutical industry; it contains biggest 5 factories out of 8 factories in Palestinian Territories. Another important industry in the city is the food processing where 25% of total number of business involved in food and beverage industry is located in Ramallah area. Most of the big companies in this industry with few exceptions are concentrated in the area their products found their way to external markets. In the last three four years the service sector has been growing in this area in an increasing rate, the most important financial Institutions are established in this area. In addition to the educational institutions as well as a number of Palestinian National Authority Ministries and other governmental institutions located in this area.

Bethlehem Chamber of Commerce and Industry

The economies of this district, similar to Jerusalem, depend to tourism. Most of the Hand Crafts industry, particularly that related to tourism, olive wood icons, and mother of pearl, are concentrated in Bethlehem, in addition to a considerable number of hotels travel agencies. Textile and stone cutting are also important to the economies of Bethlehem area. Bethlehem is preparing for celebration of Jesus birth 2000 (Bethlehem 2000)

Jenin Chamber of Commerce, Industry and Agriculture

Despite the constraints and distortions inflected to the Palestinian economy in general and the productive sectors; Industry and agriculture in particular, (water and land use), the agricultural activities remain dominant in the area of Jenin chamber of commerce. The contribution of $74,128,000 or 16.2 % of the total share of agriculture contribution to GDP. In addition agriculture equipment and machinery are mainly manufactured in Jenin.

Jericho area is characterized by its small business community that is one of the direct results of the 1967 war, when most of the refugee camps near the city fled to Jordan. Jericho is the oldest city in world. It is 350m below sea level. It is ideal as winter resort, rich in its historical sites, as well as encompasses the Dead Sea. The tropical climate of Jericho area makes it rich in its agriculture and tourism potential. Currently the economy of Jericho area is dominated by agriculture and agriculture related businesses.
