About the Chamber
The Salfeet Chamber of Commerce, Industry and Agriculture (SCCIA) was established in mid 1997 as a non-profit organization in order to represent the interests of the private sector in Salfeet district. Since then, Mr. Nabeel Ozrail has chaired it.
Despite of the short life of the SCCIA, the SCCIA has achieved a progress in the course of extending services to the business community, and being able to provide all services like those provided by other chambers as well as implementing many other activities.
Serious efforts have been made to increase membership. These efforts have been succeeding to increase the membership more than 40% during the period of January1, 1999 to December 31,1999. The SCCIA represents, until April 22, 2000, 429 members distributed as follows:

By the end of June 1999, the chamber moved from a small building it was in, to a new and larger place, which purchased by its own resource, with an area of 213 square meters.
The new place consists of a seminar room, an office for the Chairman, an office for the Managing director and a reception hall for the secretaries and other employees.
The Chamber is now equipped with all necessary furniture including 2 photocopiers, an over head projector, 2 printers, a scanner, a binding machine, a screen, 5 computers connected in an internal net work, and the telecommunication system.
The SCCIA has also completed the institution-building in term of recruiting appropriate staff in the various field of knowledge, including Management, Economics, Computer Science, Business Administration, Accounting as well as contracting with a Ph.D.-holder economist who assists the board of directors in making correct economic policies and designing the strategic plans for the Chamber.
