Qalqilia district is located to the western part of the West Bank and is considered as an agricultural area. It gained its importance not only of agriculture reasons, but also from its strategic location too, as it was a very lively conjunction for both trade and pilgrimage from Damascus, Hijaz and Jerusalem. For those reasons it was acquired a special interest by the Turkish and British armies who occupies Palestine. On the internal level, it was the major core of transport roads between Amman and the western coast of Jafa.
