Chamber Profile

The first Chamber of Commerce and Industry in Nablus was registered and setup in 1943, under the presidentship of Mr. Abdul Rahim Nabulsi , in accordance with the Othman Law of societies, to protect the interests of the commercial private sector during the second world war.

The present chamber was established in 1953 under the Jordanian Law of Chambers of Commerce and Industry and relating regulations. According to this law the chamber is governed by an elected council of twelve members with a mandate of four years. During the period 1953-1997 the presidents of these councils have been: -

Messrs. Khalil Touqan, Ma'azouz Masri, Kazem Masri, Zafer Masri, Hafez Touqan, Hisham Arafat and the present president Mr. Maaz Nabulsi.
