The weather in Jericho is classified as hot and dry in summer, and a little rainy and warm in winter.
The climate in Jericho is affected by several factors:
- It's below sea level (800 feet).
- It's far away from the Mediterranean Sea.
- The existence of the Dead Sea (12K.M from the south).
- The existence of the west mountains.
Temperature:

Thus, the Jericho area relies entirely for drinking and irrigation on underground private wells and springs such as Ein-Sultan spring which is considered to be the main source for agriculture. The source of this water is situated in the distant mountains. It has an output of 680 cubic meters an hour and a salinity of 600 fractions in one million. In addition to Ein-Sultan spring, there are Nue'meh, Duyuk, Ojah and Qelt springs.
In general, the winter season in Jericho is short, the rainy days are about 20-25days yearly.
Snow and hail are uncommon phenomena in Jericho that s why the wealthy come to spend the winter season in the City of Palms (Jericho).

The rate of humidity in Jericho reaches about 50%. The maximum humidity in winter is 70% at night, but in summer it is 45-60%, it decreases when the temperature rises up.
