Functions and Services
of the Jericho Chamber of Commerce, Industry and Agriculture (JCCIA)
The (JCCIA) s main functions are organizing the commercial, industrial, service and agricultural interests and representing the interests of the business and enterprise sectors for the sake of all concerned parties inside and outside the area and to defend their interests in all related issues; together with founding close relations with local and foreign chambers. Moreover, our Chamber generally aims at enhancing economic and productive activities; and particularly, aims at strengthening relationships among its members.
The Main Services of the Chamber:
The Chamber serves its own members through providing the following:
- It registers those who work within its scope, and gives them different commercial certificates accordingly.
- It Collects, organizes, classifies and disseminates commercial, industrial and agricultural data and statistics. The Chamber also provides official departments with data, information and opinions that are related to commercial, industrial and agricultural matters; along with disclosing commercial, industrial and agricultural norms.
- The Chamber issues and endorses the certificates of origin of the local products exported abroad. (after making sure of their contents).
- It testifies on written authorization, translations, photocopies and other related written documents. (after making sure of their contents).
- It offers information concerning fairs and commercial markets in both, the local area and abroad. It also provides all facilities to its concerned members to participate in trade fairs abroad.
- It Provides information about the local economy, such as the names of companies, their activities, addresses, contact persons etc. (This is done through a computerized program). It also provides information to the concerned members about the reliable companies abroad in different fields of business. (This is done through its relation with Foreign Chambers making use of the Internet services).
- The Chamber conducts training courses in different fields of concern to the business owners and their employees in order to enable them to achieve high economic returns and to raise their skills in the fields like: management, marketing, languages, financial management, secretarial duties and so on.
- It organizes lectures, seminars and workshops about different economic issues such as explaining the new rules, taxation, law matters, etc.
- It arbitrates the conflicted matters that are submitted to the Chamber from the respective parties.
- It issues periodical booklets distributed to the members and the Government showing the economic development at the Governorate of Jericho, the structure of the business community, the interest and the problems of the members, the activities of the Chamber on a yearly basis, in addition to many subjects.
- The Chamber also provides social services on the national level of the society.
The Administrative Organization of the Chamber
The JCCIA has recently worked out a development plan to be implemented through an organization chart for the Chamber comprising five main departments along with two consultant ones seeking for unifying the workers efforts, the organization resources to achieve the goals actively and efficiently. The chart aims at distributing the efforts, clarifying the duties of the employees. It points out the responsibilities and relationships that connects them in an attempt to improve the performance in terms of quality and quantity so as to reach ultimately the presentation of the best services actively to the members of the Chamber and the contribution in developing the various economic sectors in the Governorate. The Chamber implemented the work of the main five departments in the organization chart and postponed the function of the two consultant ones in the Chamber until the financial conditions in the Chamber improve.
